Ozaukee Aquatics has
Olympians!!!



Ozaukee Aquatics has 2 swimmers that will be representing the USA at the 2008 Paralympic Games in Beijing, China.  The meet will last for 10 day and begin in September.  

Kelley Becherer is a visually impaired swimmer, currently ranked in the top 3 in the world in several events.  She also owns the world record in the 50M Backstroke for S13 swimmers.  She will be swimming the 50M, 100M, 400M Freestyles, 100M Backstroke, 100M Breaststoke, 100M Fly, and 200M IM.  At the Paralympic Trials meet in Minneapolis a few weeks ago she set American Records in the 50M and 100M Freestyle events.

Tom Miazga is a physically disabled swimmer and competes in the S8 category.  He had a terrific meet as well in Minneapolis, qualifying for the Paralympic team in the 400M Freestyle and 100M Backstroke.  He is currently ranked 10th in the world in the 100M Back.

Great Job Kelley and Tom!!  We are all very proud of you.  Check back periodically and see what is being said about them.

  Welcome to Ozaukee Aquatics!

Ozaukee Aquatics (OZ) is a registered member of United States Swimming (USS), under the jurisdiction of the Local Swimming Committee (LSC), Wisconsin Swimming. We are committed to providing a high caliber swim team participating on a National, Regional and Local Level to serve the competitive swimming needs of the Cedarburg, Grafton, Mequon and Port Washington Area.

Ozaukee Aquatics provides competitive swimming from the novice, or beginning level through the national and master level. Our professional coaching staff works with the swimmers, encouraging them to achieve the highest level of accomplishment individually and as a team through directed improvement of swimming skills, confidence, self motivation, goal setting and personal accountability.

Ozaukee Aquatics is headed by Co- Head Coaches Steve Keller and Mark Gwidt and a staff of well qualified coaches and assistants.  The board of directors of Ozaukee Aquatics serves to assist the coaches in reaching the goals of the swim team and with the day to day business of running the program.
